This isn't directly related but in London if a ambulance is behind you with it's flashing lights on and your at the front of the queue but the lights on are red you cannot go over the light to get out of the way and if you would do that you would receive a fine even if you said that you were making room for a ambulance.

I personally would just hammer it over the top of the assholes. The police and ambulance drivers are insured for liability for this exact reason.
