The "point" of it was to get in on the console wars as a joke. People online were all xbox vs. playstation and the PC master race joke was started to pretty much say that "we are better than you both, now step aside peasants." What sets it apart from the Xbox vs PS is the fact that it actually is better. Also I don't want to make a stereotype but in many debates between the PC v console, the console supporter usually is not as informed and educated on the subject. This is where the false argument that your eyes cannot detect more than 30fps comes in. Almost all PC gamers are familiar with console gaming fewer are familiar with much PC gaming. Eventually the joke got deeper and turned into a joke of religion, where "brothers" were worshiping Gabe Newel (Valve CEO and Founder and creator of Steam) and his "disciples"(Linus from LinusTechTips, John Bain also known as TotalBuscuit or the Cynical Brit). They have a very popular subreddit [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] . Other things have been partially supported by the PC master race such as [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] . I highly suggest you watch that.
