I'm sick of hearing this tbh. I don't understand why so many people say this.

Most people just seem to think our generation is **** up, but is it?

An example.

Lets say an 11 year old gets an IPad, people go crazy and say that our generation is messed up (see this far too often on Twitter), but is it really?
People and technology have both advanced loads in the last 10 years or so and technology continues to become more and more important in our lives of course people are going to want it.

Another example

a lot teenagers have sex, drink and/or do drugs and and many people disagree that teenagers should be doing this. People say that it is messed up for them to be doing this but is it really? They were brought up this way, It has ALWAYS been like this! yet people just seem to think that it is teenagers of this generation that have done this but I bet if you ask your grandparents they will say it was exactly the same, IF NOT WORSE!

Why do so many people hate and blame our generation? People are living life up to date with how everything is at the moment, If they had consoles like Xbox One and PS4 30 years ago they would have been exactly the same as how teenagers are today.

This is just my opinion on the topic, if you disagree then fair enough but post why you disagree.

I think it is mainly because older generations did not have as much of technology as we did when they were growing up. They might think that it is making us corrupt and it may be a waste of time. But I agree. Technology has really advanced and it has created thousands of job opportunities so I dont know what the big deal is. But I guess... Thanks Obama

Like you said, it has always been this way.

Teenagers have always been idiots. They always will be.

People have always hated their generation. They always will.

I say it because when I was in high school I used to be a Teacher Assistant when I was a senior for a middle school class. (My old high school was grades 7-12) And whenever I'd be in there, I would just sit back and study the kids since their wasn't really much to do as a TA.

Any who, after an entire year of doing that, I realized just how generally stupid the kids were. They'd come in late, they'd try to act too cool for the class, I honestly don't think anyone EVER answered any question right when the teacher would ask one, when I graded test just about 95% of the test I graded were D- and below (with a few exceptions), most of them would be stuck on their phones too stupid to realize they were being called on to read or answer a question, none of them knew anything about what was going on around the world unless it was related to Jersey Shore or some other stupid meaningless TV show, no one cared about anything other than their phone, most of the girls dressed way too inappropriate for their age, most the boys tried to dress "gangster"... so all in all, they were just all-around generally low IQ'd human beings and it was truly sad to witness it.

That is nothing like the school I went to, things may be different in the US than over here in England but I doubt just 1 school sums up every other school in America

Heyyyy, Im a teenager and i don't consider myself an idiot. I do think however teenagers going around doing drugs and smoking are fools and killing themselves. But technology wise the older generation didn't have the stuff we had today. So they see it as a waste of time and is making our generation stupid.

I don't think there are actually that many teenagers who go out drinking and having sex all of the time, it's just that they are so loud about their lives on social media that it gives the impression that there are a lot of them.
You don't hear much about the introverts who are just getting on with their lives, and I think they outnumber the extroverts by a long shot.

However, I am from the UK and it seems like teenagers in the UK are a lot more 'reserved' than ones from the US. [Based on what Miss just said] When I was in high school nobody would sit there on their phones, and people were generally attentive.

I get a kick out of it when Generation X likes to talk about how Generation Y is all messed up when they're the idiots that raised Generation Y.

agreed, the UK is very big on social media but it seems on the US, especially at school people are controller by it. Mostly females
