both consoles need to be on the same title update and on the same internet connection, if one console is on TU6 and the other on TU8, then you can not do a system link game. You Must have the same title update for both games to show up on the system link server list.

I don't think you can and either way, you wouldn't be able to get online with your retail if your gonna use tu6, its gonna ask you to update so there is really no point. People use system link on mw2 now a days to infect themselves and use mods on there retail (using tu8)

I don't think that there is a way to make your mw2 on your retail to go from tu8 to tu6, but if you can make your retail go to tu6 then you can infect yourself and join the system link game. But you wont be able to get online with tu6 on your retail so there is really no point.

MW2 can be booted with TU8 on RGH/JTAG consoles, that's how half the lobbies are being hosted now.


Update your Mw2 on your JTAG/RGH to TU8 to match your retails.



Both consoles NEED to be connected via Ethernet to the same exact router, it is impossible to do this over WiFi.

You most certainly can. Just be careful, your retail could get banned, and there is no turning back from that.
