Unpopular opinion coming through.

Collateral damage is apart of war.
If it takes 5 civilians deaths to take out one high-profile terrorist, it's worth it.

That one terrorist can/will/does control a group of hundreds/thousands that kill thousands of Americans and civilians of their own country.

The greater good.

I don't agree with that view but it can't be argued against with facts etc. It's just something that makes sense to some people, and doesn't make sense to others.

I think of it like, If Russia was bombing terrorist targets in America and they were killing American families, I doubt you would accept that argument if someone from Russia said it.

What country you come from shouldn't decide how you feel about innocent deaths.

Im not Anti Military in the aspect you were talking about in this rant so to say, where people in the military are murderers.

I am anti-military in the sense that I will never join the military because of how the military has affected my life in the past. I have said this on another topic earlier this month, but my father was killed in the military a while back and I was devastated for the longest time. In that regard, I am anti military for myself, because I wouldn't want the same thing to happen to my family when I decide to have kids.

I do have a ton of respect for anybody who is willing to risk their lives to protect our Country.

This response shows you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. They go to war because they want to, not because they have no other options. That is a very ignorant way of looking at it. None of them think it will be like a video game. You seem to just think that the military is here to be oppressive and that the government is out to get people. You just regurgitate whatever media puts on a plate for you. If you knew anything about news/media then you'd know that it is all opinions. NBC and the other new post that you posted are all from Democratic sides of the spectrum. SO of course they would be anti war and use this, but what you are missing about the whole thing is that no innocent people are just killed. The soldier that pulled the trigger had enough reason and cause to do so. They are trained to make that decision. You saying what they did was wrong is like saying that Einstein's wrong about physics. They have consequences to pay if they make the wrong decision. They get discharged. Never once have I said or anyone said that all Military personal are heros. I said the one in the original post was, because he is.

AppleFTW implied it. People venerate soldiers like they are all heroes all of the time.

You say that news sites which are anti-war are obviously going to post stories like that as if the story doesn't exist.
So what if they post stories specifically like that? Does that change the facts of the story? Does it change that innocent people died? No. Of course it doesn't. It's just a straw man argument to try and deflect from the real issue.

Saying that a soldier did something wrong isn't in any way whatsoever analogous to saying that Einstein's physics are wrong.
A surgeon can be trained to operate and they can still make the wrong decision.

I gave an example of 2 reasons why people might join the military, I didn't say that's why all of them join the military.

You seem to just think that the military is here to be oppressive and that the government is out to get people.

There you go with those assumptions again. I don't think the military is there to be oppressive, I said it's a necessary evil. If I thought they were oppressive I'd say they were just evil, and just go and look at some of my replies to the Illuminati/Government conspiracies in the conspiracy forum. I don't think the Government is out to get people.

BSM wrote terrorists are good guys in their countries, but bad here. Marines are heros in the US but are terrorists in other countries.

I am anti military, but I respect people who serve, I respect everyone until they give me a reason to dislike them.

How can you be anti military? Without a fighting force, the terrorists that hate us so, would come and overthrow us and kill us. Respect those who give their lives up for us. You can't be an American and be anti military. It is in our constitution to have a working military, and without a military, we wouldn't be the great land that we are today.

This upsets me to a point that makes me sick to my stomach to have my fellow users on here bad mouthing the US military and the people in it that gives their lives for people like you. If you aren't willing to fight for this great land, you should NOT be allowed to live here.

I think our military does do things it shouldn't, however I respect the troops for putting their life on the line to protect us.

That is complete BS.

The president of Afghanistan just gave us the go-ahead on night raids in his country.
ISIS is terrorizing Syria, kidnapping children and women everywhere.

PJDUNN wrote Blind Americans perceive theyre protecting our freedoms.

TIL I'm blind because I disagree with "PJDUNN".

So why do we have wars? If you think its COMPLETE BS then every country wouldn't mind us killing people of their nation? You need to open your eyes. America isn't the only country.

I respect everyone who signs up to the Military.
The only way I would dislike them is if they joined the Military for an unlawful reason.
The public services keep up safe when they're doing what's right.
