I know the VOG is a very quick method but it's only once a week, I also know that dismantling legendaries is also another way, the daily public event etc.
But is there any actually way you can maybe farm for them? Or any sort of obtaining them quickly if so, please help

Raid, Weeklys, Dailys, Public events and Farming chests constantly with the Blessing of IV Emblem from the speaker equipped, are the best ways of obtaining shards. Next best way is to breakdown ANY legendary Armor pieces you don't need. If you have full legendary armor already, use your vanguard marks once you reach Rank 2, then buy armor to breakdown, 2-3 shards per armor *(DO NOT WASTE MARKS ON HELMET FROM VANGUARD/CRUCIBLE, THEY WILL NOT GIVE MORE SHARDS EVEN THOUGH THEY COST MORE MARKS.)

Also, Making more than 1 character will help significantly, this way you can do the weekly and daily's more often, and yes, even the raid!
