It actually drives me insane the amount of people on here who still talk like they're in year 7. And I apologize to anyone who actually is in year 7 on this site, and may speak properly. But it makes me go mad.

For example After looking at just a few posts, every other word seemed to be 'u, ur, ppl, y, rly, srsly, m8, Ikr, tbh, or idek'

And I know this isn't all of you, In fact it's just a small minority of people who still text talk, but please if this is you please stop:)

Well I can understand people getting mad when they use the abbreviations on resumes, exams, etc. but on forums, twitter, etc. I see no issue with it.

I wouldn't be surprised if within 100 years 'Ur' was being used more than your/you're.
You could argue that it would be better.
It's easy to determine which you're actually using depending on the context of the words surrounding it, and it's not exactly hard to misspell.
EG:
- Ur silly for not spelling it right.
- Is that ur final answer?

I agree with Wife though. On the internet, as long as I can understand you, I don't really care.
You do it on an official document or something that matters though? gtfo dis planit.

I totally agree, but the word 'ur' actually makes me cringe. Just look at it, it's an ugly word. I just really dislike abbreviations haha.

While people on the site can type completely fine, I find it easier to use abbreviations on the words that everyone knows. I know it drives me insane when people don't type out their words in whole, just try to ignore it. Also, some people just do it for fun.

Ur so rite tbh m8, it srsly annoys me 2.

I don't understand why it annoys you though? I suppose it's funny when someone talks like that thinking they're "cool" or whatever, but I use abbreviations a lot. Although, I feel like it's alright for me to do since I actually have half a brain and can spell.
