What is your power supply?

What is the computer going to be for?

$600

I'd switch to intel.

In this case, I wouldn't bother switching to Intel since you ca upgrade to an FX-8320 if you need a more powerful CPU. With $600, you can get a GTX 970, SSD and upgrade PSU which would be a wise upgrade.

If you can go a little over your $600 budget, you could get this;

Otherwise, keep the FX-6300 for now and upgrade to a 256GB MX100 instead of the 128GB version.
