BAKERSFIELD, Calif. People dressed as clowns are causing a stir in Californias San Joaquin Valley.
The latest after-dark sighting came Saturday, when police in Bakersfield responded around 8 p.m. to a report of a clown holding a firearm.
Officers searched but didnt find anyone.
The Bakersfield Californian reports that the latest sighting came after a week during which police received numerous calls about scary or mischievous clowns.
According to the newspaper, police said they have arrested one minor who acknowledged dressing up and chasing younger juveniles.
There have been reports of clown sightings in Wasco County since Oct. 1.
Social media accounts for the Wasco Clown features photos and updates from their exploits, prompting area residents to try and catch a glimpse of them.

Because they appear in different costumes and are so active, many believe the Wasco Clown is a group of people rather than an individual.
Yesterday they were saying there were two then they were trying to say like seven, but I dont know, Wasco resident Kevin Cabello told KFOR.
A clown in Northampton, England jolted residents last September after appearing at night in a costume similar to Pennywise from the movie based on Stephen Kings It. The Mirror UK later revealed the identity of the person as 22-year-old university student Alex Powell, a budding filmmaker who just wanted to amuse people.

I absolutely hate clowns. I would freak out If I was walking and seen one of these people.

I absolutely love what these guys are doing. Bakersfield is pretty close by here so it'd be hilarious if it started happening here.
