I have a disabled iPhone 4s and i have learned the only way i can un-disable this device is to connect to iTunes but every time i try it just doesn't connect or even appear on my computer? i have browsed the internet for a long time trying to find a resolution to my problem but with no luck! so if anyone on TTG could help that would be brilliant!

thank you in advance for your help

First try a different cable and USB port on your computer. Also check in the device manager to make sure its not just a driver issue.

If that doesn't work have a look inside the charging port and see if its dirty or corroded. If it is dirty, clean it out with a clean toothbrush or something you can pick the gunk out with then try connecting to the computer again.

If that fails too then it's likely a bad charging port. You can take it to a repair shop and have it fixed or attempt to repair it yourself.

how did you manage to disable it? was it by typing the wrong password too many times?
Try get it into DFU mode then try reset it?

also if you do that and dont know your icloud email and password youre doomed cos itll be locked forever

thank you for your help but i am sure it is not the cable or the computers port as i use the same two for my iPhone 4&im fairly sure its not the 4s's port as i am able to charge the phone(But not past a certain percentage unless the phone is turned off) its a bit of a burden this phone and if it cannot be fixed cheaply then i shall just toss it away!

That particular issue is the battery going bad.

And the charging port can still function as a charger but not be able to transmit data it just depends on what pins in the port are damaged.

The charging port flex itself shouldn't cost anymore the $5-$10 if you want to do the repair yourself and you can find tutorials online on how to do that repair. If you take it to a shop its probably going to cost around $50 usd.

Also, don't toss it, sell it on ebay or something. You might not get a whole lot but it will be more than tossing it.
