OR ELSE...
Every Grammar Nazi on TTG will be mad at you and will unleash his rage upon the rant section.

Over the past couple of weeks I have noticed several rants directed at people at people not using correct grammar while posting on TTG. See for yourself, almost every page contains one or more complaint(s) in relation to grammar.

[RANT]

People like this annoy me because

1. It is a message board for gamers, not a bloody literacy club.

2. They are too ignorant to comprehend the possibility that the user typing could have perfectly fine grammar and -

- does not care about putting it into practice because it's a message board?
- they simply made a typo or mistake.

3. They are too ignorant to comprehend the possibility that the user typing is -

- A child who is generally not expected to have perfect grammar at his/her age.
- A person who has a learning disability for example: dyslexia
- A person who learned English as a second language is generally not expected to have perfect grammar.

4. They simply take grammar way too seriously, sure it's very important for a lot of things such as -

School, College, University, places of work, documents, books etc.. Anything in relation to education or professional, then sure grammar is IMPORTANT.

But on a message board for gamers..? It's not THAT important.

I'm a grammar Nazi. Why? I find it hard to read something that grammatically makes no sense. I read every word and the meaning behind it.

They teach you these things for you to use it. Not blow it off because that just makes you look like you haven't learned anything.

I think a rant about people with bad grammar is a bit too far. But, it could help the people who do not use correct grammar to learn better grammar. Im just saying.

Bad grammar is acceptable up until the point it becomes tedious to read or barely even coherent.

If your reading something that looks like it was written by a blind dog and wants to make you smash your head up a wall,

something has to be said..

I don't really mind if someone's grammar isn't the best, but when it becomes difficult to read because of their grammar, that's when it starts annoying me.

Again, this site is open to 13 year olds. Some may have decent grammar while the other 85% of them will not.

As long as the text is readable and I can understand it, it's fine but if they don't include punctuation and it's confusing I get annoyed.
