I was thinking of upgrading to the xbox one without the kinect is that a good idea or is it worth the extra money for kinect? Whys the kinect good? What does it do?

I think the kinect is worth it. I don't even play Kinect games, but I am in love with the voice commands. I won't use my controller to navigate menus

Technically you don't need kinect but with it brings some added bonuses.
For example you have voice commands, meaning if you aren't playing a game you can literally control your xbox with your voice. Another thing is you can hook your xbox up to a cable box and won't have to switch over to your normal tv anymore.
