Hello, I'm just looking for some advice on my PC build that I am planning on putting together. I am not HUGE into this sort of stuff so I just want to know if my list of parts would make a good build or if I need to add anything. so please let me know! Price is flexible, and the total build comes to about $1280 USD (without the rebates) and I would like to keep it under $1300 USD if possible. I am not looking to be overclocking at all, I would like this PC to be able to be used as a PC gaming rig, capture/edit/render gameplay and other videos and be able to livestream. Please let me know if this is a good build/if all the components will work with eachother properly!
Also, I do not need a monitor/keyboard/mouse, I already have them.

I'd highly suggest a different case that one is too big and bit ugly tbh.
I'd suggest this case over it [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
Save your self some money if you're not overclocking by getting the 4790 and a H97 motherboard and spend the money you'll have spare on a better GPU Like a 280x or 290
Regarding the i7 and 16gb ram you most likely won't need either and a i5 with 8gb would do you perfectly fine thus allowing for a 290 which can handle a lot more than a 280
Also you're not using a SSD on a build like this which is quite insane.

What I'd get
Thank you for the advice. Like i said I'm a newbie to the PC stuff.
As for the case, I thought it looked rather cool but ohwell. I guess maybe I am aiming towards an overclocking PC then, im not sure.
Final questions -
1) If I were to keep my current parts list, what SSD would you recommend for my build?
2) If I were to switch out the Thor V2 for the Fractal Design case would it be able to vent properly/fit the GPU? (the GPU I listed is 11x5 inches)
3) Will all of the parts I have chosen work together and run properly?

This is what SSD I'd recommend it's very well priced and performs well. [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
The R4 is a very simplistic case designed for silence and it's a very highly regarded case with excellent airflow "Graphics cards up to 295mm in length with the top HDD cage installed
With the top cage removed, graphics cards up to 430mm in length may be installed"
You've got more than enough room in a mid tower..
3: The parts are completely compatible but Not entirely balanced in my opinion you would benefit more from a i5 and a better GPU.

hmm, that case would save me some money too.
like i said im a noob when it comes to this stuff. What does a SSD do exactly? it just seems like a low capacity HDD. Im also not very aware of how to read the specs for a good GPU or processor. I assumed the i7 would be better in the long run so i wouldnt have to upgrade so soon and get another. I have a i5 i believe in my laptop and my laptop is crap so im just weary of the i5 you are quoting me. wouldnt the i7 be better down the road? and what GPU would you recommend instead of the Asus i listed?

I Disagree on the case ideas, i swear by the R4 And almost purchased it but ended up switching to a full tower NZXT Case. To figure out what type of case you need is pretty much
1.) Will i be moving it around or traveling with it"Lan centers"
If so get a mini case
2.) Am i limited on space for shelfing/floor room
If you are, go with the R4 Best mid tower case
3.) If neither apply to you ^^ a full tower allows you to have more fans and you can do extra mods to it, this is why i purchased the Phantom 530.
Just some of my insight, I do not disagree with the R4 Case at all though. Best mid tower case out there, just not flashy enough for me

The only reason I find to get a full tower is if you have a custom water loop so you have space for the rads, pump, tubing and res. If you aren't, a mid will be more than enough.
