Does anyone else wonder why and how people first started trying to hack and modify things? I find it interesting how someone could just decide one day to mod and hack something and change gaming forever

It is weird to think of it like that.
Maybe the guy was messing around and randomly bought a JTAG thinking it was a WII and went online on MW2 and gave himself 10th prestige thinking he was too good for the game? lol idk

It's you again lol JK.

I don't think that someone randomly decided to "start hacking". I believe it was the consensus decision that an electronic device had more capabilities than it was being used for. Thus, people found ways to expand on that devices abilities through its exploits. Hacking is born.

Then again, that's just what I think...

Hahaha that's an even weirder thought. Maybe the person who first modded MW2 was the creator of Nintendo who was jealous of how good FPS games were and so hacked them and changed the face of gaming forever...

OMFG it's you.

Haha, ofc hacking didn't just randomly start. It probably started as a small exploit that pushed a boundary and through the years, more and more exploits arose and made hacking/modding even easier which is what led to this topic poster thinking that someone could've just started hacking randomly

Yes it's really just a weird thing to think about haha, like what was going through their heads when they found out different hacks and mods.

Or are we not going far enough into speculation???

Could it be that the very essence of computers relies on those who decide hack them, so others may make a living patching these exploits, or is it vice versa? And if we are in the matrix we are gonna need some serious exploits

Anyway, hacking can never be over speculated(in my opinion)!
