Haven't made a rant in a while, normally my rants are quite controversial and this one will probably be the same, generating a lot of negative feedback, but hey I speak my mind and everyone is entitled to their own opinion(s).

It's getting very tiresome hearing people hit out with the same banter day in-day out.

For those of you outside of the UK who don't know what banter means.

Banter = Teasing remarks.

(Edit: OBVIOUSLY online banter is DIFFERENT from social banter, thanks for pointing out the obvious.. -Grunt)

Online banter is repetitive and pointless, some examples are.

Banter - You mad bro? (I hear this one almost every day)

My Reply - Why would I be mad bro it's a game, so what I lost I'd be extremely naive to think I can win every time. Games that annoy me I simply no longer play I.E Ghosts/Fifa 14.

My Thoughts - Ironically most people who say "you mad bro" are most likely the type of people who actually 'get mad' when shi^ doesn't go their way.

Banter - Get on my level!

My Reply - That would be impossible sir, unlike you I work 3-5 days a week and do stuff other than play the computer all day everyday.

My Thoughts - I'm pretty good at COD, but some of the people I play with are so much better, I don't have the free time to get that consistent, most other games I'm a proud noob.

Banter - Do you even lift?

My Reply - Yeah, I can bench 120kgs at the moment, been 'lifting' since I was 17. Just because (the person saying it) for example: can bench 50kg doesn't make him a tank, you don't see me gloating about it; it's a hobby, not a way of life.

My Thoughts - When I say 'bench 120' I mean doing one with a struggle and a spotter if I fail, if it where 50kgs for example I can do well over 15 unaided.

Banter - SQUEEEEKER ALERT!

My Reply - I'm not gonna lie, my ears don't respond well to high pitched voices. However it's stupid when people insult little kids for having a high pitched voice or make rants about it on TTG. They seem to forget they had a little girls voice at some point in their life, use your head and use the mute feature!

My thoughts - If you had a son with a high pitched voice, would you make fun of him for it? I think not, otherwise please don't have children.

Just some examples that slightly annoy me when I hear them over and over again, banter is banter and fun, but repetitive banter gives me a headache.

Thoughts?

You can't argue with the facts, they are annoying but that's just how it is. Also I've never been asked if I lift lol I understand that it happens because I've seen memes but I've never personally been asked or even heard anyone say it.

The main thing I wish was fixed was the age requirements because I know 90% of the people plays cod and such are not eighteen and that with out them the banter would be drasticly be cut down. Maybe if they required some age verification. But of course if that happened they'd lose so much money. This is just how it is. Thanks for the good points you've made and great examples.

Thanks and 'do you lift' isn't really a common form of banter, been said to me a few times. It just annoys me when people say it trying to portray themselves as something they are most likely not. :p

At first I thought this was going to be the banter I'm used to, just traditional back and forth conversations. Anyways I agree with what you're saying completely. I hear this stuff all the time these days, thankfully i don't play too many games online anymore and have to hear it often.
