Only one downfall of Jax, He is banned regularly in ranked and in draft. So I wouldnt recommend actually "learning" him. Top lane, I recommend Tryndamere, He is extremely easy to CS with, Most people call him a "noob" champ for his ultimate, but its a part of his kit. I'd go Trynd Or Nasus for top lane. If you can play either at a high level, You can carry any game.

I play top lane often, and whenever I'm against a Yi I destroy him.
For a beginner top laner I'd recommend Garen or Malphite. If you play well, you can easily carry games. I've brought back games and won when we only had 3 men vs 5 with these two.
