We have Time Warner Cable, and we pay for phone, internet and cable, but our phone house phone service doesn't even work any more. The internet is constantly messing up, and even with the speeds we're getting, I'm still lagging.

We're probably going to solely get internet service, as we'll replace cable with netflix, and we all have cell phones. I was looking at Century Link, but I don't know. Anyone who can help me with experience gets +Rep

This is guess because you didn't leave too much detail and I'm not from the US but the Time Warner company could be using copper cables instead of fibre optic for the phone line thus meaning the copper cables are losing their ware and are in need of replacing?

If you have fibre optic then consider a different provider or higher package.

I would recommend Virgin media and that is who I am with, I certainly can not complain. I would not recommend Sky or TalkTalk and their connection is slow and unreliable.

Lag has more to do with ping than speeds. Very low Internet speeds are needed for smooth gaming in reality.

But of in the US Verizon Fios has always worked extremely well for me. My ping is always under 5 and I get my advertised speeds at a decent price.

From experience, AT&T has been the best for me, I've used Time Warner & Verizon before. Everybody I know tells me AT&T is garbage, maybe I got lucky because my internet is excellent.

By the way, when I used Time Warner my inernet would randomly stop working every other 30 minuets and I'd have to restart my router.

If you're from the US I say go with Charter, as that's what I am on currently and the internet speed is quite decent. Then again I never experienced other countries faster speeds, so who knows.

It all depends on where you live and what internet is available to you at your location.

I would recommend that you go with some sort of hard-line internet/DSL rather than going with satellite or something like that.
