Scizor wrote The switch from Paypal to Google Wallet is a huge (and positive) change for the site.

Paypal is the EA of the online payments world, a big company but a horrible public Rep and questionable business actions. They can (and most likely will) freeze your account for no reason, make you provide not needed information, and draw out the lock for as long as possible just to make money.

tl;dr NEVER leave money just sitting in a paypal account.

As for TTG, Google Wallet is a much safer payment option for them, and opens the world to a larger number of payment options. Cryptocurrency, Google Play, etc. The startup may be slow for them at first, but Google wallet is really emerging as the replacement for paypal in the very near future.

why cant paypal be an extra option? and ive never ever had a problem with paypal in the 4 years ive had it so please tell me how its a problem? i dont even think you can vouch for google wallet as it hasnt been out for as long as paypal so you cant really vouch for that until it been out for as long as paypal.

Because TTG recently had an issue with paypal to my knowledge, and due to Paypal's morals and how they do business, having payments being routed through Paypal is a HUGE risk for Sean and the TTG income.

Removing paypal is a ''HUGE risk for Sean and the TTG income.''

But keeping it was a bigger risk.
Remember this is a business and the business needs to look out for itself.
just because you and your family didnt have issues doesnt mean they dont exist when handling thousands in currency

There are risks with everything i promise you that google wallet has more problems as they are really just starting up, paypal has more experience meaning they would have fixed the stupid problems that google wallet probably has

You may want to do some research into that.

Paypal have more issues and take longer to solve them than Google.
If we follow the current trend paypal will lose over 60% of business to Google Wallet over the next 4 years.

I realise we aint going to agree, but do some research to see what you are actually arguing against.

In an ideal world yes we would have both options....but sadly we dont

Just face it you cant win this, you cant win this argument as the majority agree with what i am saying!

The people that agree with you on this thread are not a majority on TTG.
This is not really an argument anymore, just you hating something because it's a little bit inconvenient to you.
This thread has resorted to the people that support gold writing thought out responses, and you spamming that you disagree.

Why So Serious?

I find nothing wrong with Google Wallet! Dont think Sean would change something that only a couple people dont like. There's 1,500,000 members on this site. But maybe Sean will do something about this... ( I dont know what im talking about )

Sorry, but no amount of protest will get PayPal back. Obviously, removing the payment method that has been in use for years comes with significant financial risk and it doesn't take a genius to figure out that we would have preferred to keep it. The details behind all of this are Sean's business and all the info we can give you has already been posted.

As for people saying that an Ebay subsidiary is more "trustworthy" than a Google service, you're crazy.

TL;DR: You're preaching to the choir and we would prefer to have kept PayPal for obvious reasons. Sorry for the inconvenience.
