We live in a time period of some great advancements, but what will we be truly known for? There is not much more land on our own planet to discover in this period, we're not advanced enough to go to other planets yet, we didn't just learn how to farm. Kids 100 years from now, 200 years from now, what are they gonna read about us in their world history textbooks?
We are too early in life to see what could quite possibly be one of the greatest achievements of humans - discovering life elsewhere
we're too late to discover electricity, or the law of gravity, or stuff like that.
We're caught right in the middle.
It's gonna be a shame knowing that most likely we're gonna be dead before the next amazing advances.

Electronics? If it wouldn't be for ''our'' generation there would be no phones, computers etc. We don't wash our own clothes, a machine does it for us. There are lots of stuff that have been discovered in our generation if you think about it.

We are coming along very well in 3D printing that could be one thing that will be in they're history textbooks as it may be a useful tool in the future.

I don't think it's possible to tell until the generation is over. Like we all know what the past generations are known for. But we won't know this era until it has finished. If I had to guess, it would be music or electronics.

LOL this makes no sense, the first washing machine was invented in the 1900's that's 15 generations ago man. The first cell phone was invented in 1970's, the first computer was built a loooong time ago, that definition can be difficult to understand. The list goes on those 3 items you mentioned were built a long time ago, not in this generation. We do have advanced version but the basic concept and model was built many generations ago... We are just here using the advanced models and so forth. Something that was built in MY generation was the N64 and xbox original. That would have been a better example. Because they were actually built when I was alive..
