They do it to make themselves seem more professional, however it does not seem that way to anyone else, most people think they look stupid and annoying. I think that way as well, it's pointless if we can already see your name, and non-gold members do it so they feel like they can have their own signature.

Some people use it to pass the 20 character limit, so if you see at message with 3 words you will understand why they do it.

Its worse when Gold members with signatures with thier username in do it...Cause yknow 3+ times of seeing your name , a usually animated Sigpic or avatar etc isnt enough to draw me to your name without just looking at it like any other.

I do much prefer the "Old" format of forum signatures, they were just that a Signature not a fancy vanity art having to be paid for they allowed a nice little insight into your personality/uniqueness that was easily seen , kind of like some busineses online use signature pictures below their staff names etc.

It's only to bypass the 20 character limit anyways.

Yeah man i never got this also.. I don't see how it could be more professional because when people do it in emails you can see there email address and not there name so its understandable, But here its super pointless..
