Alright so my friend from schools wanting to sell me this iPhone 5s... he said he found it at a club or whatever, but it was good as new but the thing was that it's disabled because him and his friends tried to many pass-codes.
i know theres multiple ways of un-disabling it and one main ways through iTunes. when i do hook it up to itunes to do the factory reset, do i need to have the password to the itunes its registered to?
or does anyone know a way i can un disable it? he said hed sell it to me for $75 so its a killer deal.
just wanting to makesure i can un disable it, and get it working before i do buy it. thanks.

Turn off your device. If you can't turn it off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time and wait a few seconds for it to turn off.
Plug the device's USB cable into your computer only.
Hold down the device's Home button as you connect the USB cable to it.
When you see the Connect to iTunes screen, release the Home button. If you don't see this screen, try steps 1 through 3 one more time.iTunes should open and display a message such as: "iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. You must restore this iPhone before it can be used with iTunes."

Use iTunes to restore your device.

So your friend stole an iPhone 5s and you have it now?

So you're trying to steal someone else's phone that they pay for, monthly and paid for the phone?

I hope he does the Find My iPhone app and you and your friend get what's coming to you.

No. You will not need the password to recover it.

not sure if you guys are old enough to go to clubs and bars and such... but when you find a brand new iPhone 5s left in the parking lot a little later than 2am its definitely a score! say what you feel, but theres been a lot worse. its quite common actually.

It's still stealing, I don't care if it's a phone or a car.

That is someone's personal device, that he contacts people with. He paid probably like 300 dollars or more for the phone and you are just going to steal it?

What if you were in his shoes? You wouldn't want someone to steal your phone you use for a lot of things would you?

Maybe take it to an Apple store, have them unlock it and then you can call someone on his/her contacts and give them the phone back.

I know you know it's wrong to do this. You can't just go around and steal someones phone.

Plus if they calls the cops they could probably track you down with ease and they will get the phone back, and you might get something along with meeting the guy, whether it would be a ticket or a punch in the face.
