How do you get these parts yet do not know the cost of them? I was going to do a pc part picker for you but you already have the info you need. Just look up your parts and add total lol. Looks like a good rig for gaming although you didnt specify what you are looking for. You cant just throw out a rig and say is this good. Do you want 1080? 60fps? List goes on but know what you are looking for first

That's a decent build, it'll run most games on medium-high on a respectable resolution. If you're expecting to play BF4 on max settings at 1080p with 60FPS, you'll need to upgrade the GPU. The 3570k is a good mid-range gaming CPU, you won't need the extras that come with the i7 unless you're rendering/editing, the i5 is more than enough for your needs.

I'd say that build would be around $600-650, going from the prices where I live -- give or take the $50 depending on the manu and rebates.

I'd spend less on the processor and motherboard and put it toward a better graphics card. Depending on the model of the motherboard and power supply will really say whether the build is good at all.

You can't really say the build is bad in it's entirety because of a bad mobo or PSU. The newer ASRock mobos have a lot lower defect rate than the older ones, and really -- if the PSU is bad then all he needs to do is swap it out for a different manu. If by "good" you mean it has good features then that's a different story.

Well if the power supply is bad, it is plugged into every component and if it breaks and surges you can say goodbye to all your sensitive components. Maybe the new AsRock boards are better, but thats still old generation and there is not a maker of motherboards that are bad in every single one.

My fault, when you said "bad" I assumed you meant "doesn't have enough power"
