That system will be usable for five years certainly, but you should be aware that it won't even be top of the line for one year as parts change every year.

If it was me i'd get something like an i5 and a decent B85 board like the B85 Killer and then change it out with every platform launch from Intel. Sounds expensive, but if you spent the money on that rather than money on that expensive overclocking gear then you wouldn't be too far out of pocket.

I'm not getting the stuff I am strictly for overclocking, however I am getting them strictly for gaming.
