Uhm if a kid brought a razor blade to school they would fall the freaking swag team and lock down the school. And it's tricky I feel the same way like dude really you are just labeling yourself but at the same time weak people will do what weak minded people do and that is self harm. You can change people and if people want tk continue to hurt themselves and NOT try and benefits themselves I say let em do it. Itl show who's weak

People bring sharpeners into school.
He may have unscrewed it from the casing and just took the blade...

Don't get me wrong, it's unusual but some people genuinely result to it in their own time of need. I know you get the odd few (million) that do it solely for the attention, however there are people who do it on a more serious note. Carrying a razor blade? I'm pretty sure that'd be classed as an offensive weapon which means the kid faces some consequences coming his way. As for the running off and returning with the blade and blood dripping... Seems like a major cry for help. Also a very foolish act if anything. Oh well, move on. Your entitled to your own opinion as if everyone.

So lets say I get bullied every day for 3 months. They shove me in lockers, call me names, and make fun of me for having traits/features that I CAN'T CONTROL. Pointless right? Of course I am angry, sad, maybe even depressed, but what does cutting myself bring? Basically saying that you are going to cut yourself, over something that you can't control. It's not that hard to 1. Not pay attention to the attention seeking bullies, or
2. Tell the damn principal/other school staff, get the kids suspended/expelled.
I got some bullies suspended for 2 weeks, they stopped bullying me after that...
But if you just say something to somebody of authority, you won't have to do yourself harm. Bullying is a federal crime, just saying ;)

You have no idea how hard it is.

This topic should be closed! This is a very sensitive topic and i do not think it should be on a gaming forums. I strongly disagree with this post and the fact that you posted it is sick.

My old bestfriend used to do this, no matter what i couldn't get her to stop she was seriously depressed, but no matter what she didn't blame anyone else.

it's just certain people who used that it's everyone's fault for a cry of attention.

Sanctorum wrote Firstly, that wasn't harassment but it was uncalled for. You shouldn't talk down to people who cut themselves, you're no better just because you haven't/don't self harm. Secondly, he should be suspended for having a dangerous weapon in school..

Anyway, I, myself, used to cut. I done it for self harming, but I also cut as a suicide attempt, to actually try and kill myself from blood loss. I cut my legs and chest, as well as the top of my arms. I cut where no one would be able to see. I can't explain the feeling, but it makes you feel so much better when you're upset/depressed. I actually tried to kill myself by doing it one night and sliced my wrist to shreds, it was a mess. I still hide my wrists to this day because of that. My scars have faded a lot now and they're hard to see unless you look for them but I still hide my wrists because I'm ashamed. It's been almost a year since I last cut now.

I do see where you are coming from though, I hate people who cut themselves for attention. I understand some people need attention, maybe they're in an unsuitable home and need taken out so resort to cutting. But, I can't stand the stupid little girls with perfect lives who cut themselves because One Direction didn't sign their poster or some sh*t, or because their boyfriend broke up with them, even though they're 12 years old. It's pathetic. My ex was like this and so was her stupid, little friend. They'd always boast about how they cut themselves and sh*t, would drive me nuts. If someone cuts themselves because they're depressed or truly want to die, they don't boast about it, they hide it because they're ashamed and I know this from experience.

Finally someone who understands the depth of 'real' cutting. I was in the same situation as you.
I used to cut, like, alot. I was at school one day and this kid (who's parents buy him everything, the latest iPhone, a car and insured it, they're also paying the first year of rent on his flat). He was complaining because he got grounded for a week, I remember sitting on the bus and seeing him show everyone his wrists like it was some huge achievement that should be praised. It made me feel physically sick, that he took a genuine problem and turned it into attention.
I didn't say anything to him, no one anywhere knows that I used to cut. It does feel like a shameful thing to have done. I hide it, and always will.

@OP I'm sure you've been told countless times, but you should try to put yourself into the other person's shoes, understand how they feel, before ripping into them like that. In retrospect it probably wasn't a good idea to keep going after he got upset. It's a very emotional subject.
