I'd be using this for gaming. Games like Battlefield 4 Titanfall Skyrim etc. If I can get better parts for an extra 20 bucks or so let me know. I am a complete noob with computers, the new consoles seem like **** so here I am. Any help is appreciated.

Those corsair vengeance rams can run pretty expensive for what they are worth. High speed RAM is essentially useless for people that don't do video/photo editing for temporary memory.

R9 270x is great, however mantle isn't in place for all but two or three games. Even then DirectX is getting hardware level interfacing within the next year or so therefore mantle is useless. For an equivalent you can pick up a GTX 760 or 770: Nvidia includes some neat software. (Easy overclocking in PrecisionX, Shadowplay, Twitch Streaming, Streamlined Updates)

Good medium level system. Will run most games on medium-high settings for 60 fps at the minimum

Most games on medium to high, with the 270X, I am yet to find a game that I can't run on highest settings...
BF4 Ultra at 60 FPS
FC3, 80FPS
BL2, 100 FPS
Payday 2 100 FPS
SRIV 90FPS
do I need to continue?

However, OP. The FM2 socket is dead. Look at the AMD FX 6300 and a Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3. Newer socket.

The FM2 socket is as dead as the AM3 socket.

FM+2 all the way

Change your CPU and mobo. You might want to change the PSU as well.

What specifically would you recommend?

Thank you for all the help. Would you suggest a different video card either for the same price or more expensive and I can wait to get that?
