Gaming is as much a sport as Curling is.

Why are people referring to gamers as athletes, they don't fall under the definition of it do they:
"a person who is proficient in sports and other forms of physical exercise."
simple
"a person who is proficient in sports and other forms of physical exercise."

Well you can't play a game forever, so technically it is retiring, but it is annoying when they say that.

Muddyy96 wroteDNF wrote Always bugged me this, as for "building up a sweat" playing games, thats a mental problem not an effect of physical activity, just like people sweat when they are nervous. In fact when I had an xbox, I used to physically sweat when I was playing a really good team and we were winning, was horrible haha.
Nothing about gaming is a sport, its fact haha, thats why they added the "e" before.
Do you even know what the "e" means? I dont see whats a problem with the term eSport, you can get a visa in some countries for eSport, its classed as a job by some governments
I dont think you realise how big eSports are now
So they get a job playing video games right? That consists of absolutely no physical activity (which FYI is what a sport is, physical activity) except when you have to take a piss in 10 seconds because your game is about to start.
You have no idea what a sport really is. Which is what Axe is trying to get his point across.

eSports do take skill to play, but I'm going to be honest here:
Paying a 90 minute match of football (UK) requires endurance, fitness, logic, maths, problem solving, friendship, team work, sportsmanship, rivalry due to placement, the list for that example is endless.
Playing a 30 minute, 3 game session of eSports does not require fitness, maths, friendship, sportsmanship etc, hence taking out what I see deemed mainly as a sport.
I agree with you axe, however I do respect people who are fans of eSport because I am one myself during the 6-month period of waitin for my new job, I played BLOPS2 competitevley and loved every minute of it, but not for one second did I classify it as a sport, I classified it as MLG which is completely different.

You classified it as thus due to the website you were playing it on classified it as such.
Hence the "G" - GAMING

I have to disagree as this does not bother me. What would you suggest that they actually call it?
