Home plate collisions are terrible. I'm glad that they're finally banned. Sure they can show 'toughness' between players but is it really necessary. Buster Posey getting injured was probably was the reason why the Giants didn't really do much that year; in fact, Posey getting injured is the reason.

I don't want a star on my favorite team suffer from an injury just to get a run in or to prevent one. I rather lose a game than lose a player for a while. There are perfect plays to avoid those collisions. Posey sat in front of home plate, caught the ball, and then dove at the plate for a play a couple years ago which was smart. Ichiro not colliding with the catcher and was playing tag was smart as well and he tagged home before getting tagged out. Two plays that are reasonable for baseball and it saved potentially two injuries.

This is just ridiculous, injuries are a part of sports and by banning collisions t is just going to ruin the game. How is the runner supposed to get to home plate now? Look at Football Helmet to Helmet collisions are bad but they are a part of the sport and like many now say its just like flag football. NBA also used to have major contact and that's why people flop more than what they used to, Just to act like they got hit when in reality they didn't.

Absolutely ridiculous. Collisions are part of baseball. Sure, it's sad to see a good player get hurt because of a collision, but I don't agree with them banning collisions. Very disappointing to see this

Personally I mean yeah it's good they're gone
but I see it as entertainment? Like you always hear
fans saying oh did you see that collision last night
at the A's game!? But yes it is good, less injuries
