I've been having a problem with my Xbox for months now, Some games will read but some will just keep saying Open Tray. Like i can get on Fifa 14 in like 5 mins but it takes like 30 mins to get on CoD! I have had my xbox since 2009. Is the Disk tray dieing ?

Yeah your disc trey is messing up, mine did the same, kept doing it till it stopped reading them completely

I had this problem a while ago and it turns out its the disc drive I tried to fix it and it worked for a while then it broke

Mate if its the old xbox, it should be easy to fix, just open the case uo and take thedisctray out and take the casing off, clean al the dust off with a cotton bud or something and it should be okay, happened with my xbox arcade

Yeah take out your disc tray, clean the gears and everything, then gently clean the laser with a Q-tip. There are many videos online for this.

If none of the above methods work just order a new pcb board and replace it but make sure you put your drives firmware on your pc and re write it on the new pcb. Its not really that hard but if you don't want to unsolder the cords and stuff or just don't wanna take apart your xbox just sent it in to microsoft.

The drives laser is dying. easy fix is to buy a replacement drive make sure it's the same make and model as your current one. When you have the replacement drive out take the board from the old one and move it to the replacement drive and fit it back in the console.

Pretty common for the lasers to die in the 360s and the issues you are having seem to point to that.

U got 2 ways of fixing this issue buy a. New laser lens it's only $9 on eBay, second way do the pot fix on the laser that's all u need to do I always have this issues in my shop
