I would go for the HP laptop, because i've used acer before and trust me it's not as good as HP.

HP
2x SuperSpeed USB 3.0,1x USB 2.0 ( USB 3.0 give faster transfer speed)
Hard Drive 1000GB
Quad Core CPU (Having a Quad gives better clock speed)
Memory(aka)Ram 8GB
Optical Drive(For playing dvds,CDs,Games on Disc)
HDMI output (To connect to TVs for a big screen HD)
Standard Keyboard

Acer
1x SuperSpeed USB 3.0,2x USB 2.0 (less than the HP Laptop)
Hard Drive 500GB
Duel Core CPU
Memory(aka)Ram 6GB
NO OPTICAL DRIVE (That means you can't play DVDs,CDs. But it's up to you)
HDMI output
Backlit Keyboard (your keyboard can light up if using it at night or when ever you decide to turn it on)

Honestly I think you'll get more out of the HP Laptop
Than the Acer for just about $25 more.

If your going to be gaming DON'T GET A LAPTOP!

Try building a pc. you save a lot of money.

Go over to the PC building section and post a topic with the following...

What is your budget and currency? (Pound sign does not work normally, use GBP abbreviation)
Do you need a monitor?
Do you need a keyboard?
Do you need a mouse?
Do you need an operating system?
What will you use the PC for?

There is loads of tutorials on YouTube and the manuals are easy to read. It's like putting a puzzle together, most things only go in one way.
