I have a Radeon HD 7850 OC edition and was wanting to know what peoples views are on X-firing and what I can expect with frame rates and if any tearing. iv looked over the net and it seems very mixed. Some people recommend it and others don't.

I cant afford to go out and buy a 400 GPU and wouldn't even if I had the money, if I have too ill just settle for playing new games on medium-high for now.

If you were going to Xfire your current 7850 with another one you'd have to make sure the PSU would be able to handle it. Also what motherboard do you have? We need to make sure it has another PCIe x16 slot running at atleast x4.

Xfire can have its problems, drivers ect. But it's a cheap upgrade compared to going out and buying the latest and greatest GPU while breaking the bank in the process.

If I were you, I'd go for it. If you don't have a compatible PSU and motherboard though, you might be better off buying a whole new card as the cost of buying another 7850, PSU and motherboard would cost that of a new high end card.

yea it would be a slow process anyway as I would need a new motherboard and a PSU but at least I can spread the cost over time
