ArmoredHazmat wrote Your right! To bad to only way to prevent shootings is with more weapons. Such a sad day when it has to resort to this!

You can twist my words all you want; it doesn't make what you're saying feasible.

I haven't twisted any words. Your confusing yourself with simple ideas I have proposed, which may not be possible with todays mind set, that guns don't kill.

You implied that I said "more weapons will prevent shootings." More weapons in the right hands prevent shootings.

Guns don't kill, people kill.

Exactly my point! They prevent, more shootings. This will not stop school shootings, again stating "Nothing can prevent a school shooting, this only creates less time for the shooter to do more damage than intended."

I was under the impression you were arguing AGAINST arming teachers, which can both prevent and stop school shootings. I'm not sure what you're getting at.

Nothing can stop school shootings. I'm again gonna say what I have said 3 times now "Nothing can stop a school shooting, this only creates less time for the shooter to do more damage than intended." Why is this so hard to grasp?

So people with guns don't stop shootings? I guess you'd suggest calling the police instead so they can use their guns to possibly intervene possibly ten minutes later.

You also seem to think that a shooter will see a school where teachers are allowed to carry guns the same way they see a school where they do not. This along with better psychological health programs both nationwide and in schools will prevent shooting and cut them short should they happen.

Good people with guns stop school shootings, but only if they are there in time to do so.

I'm not sure if this is a great idea, I mean it may stop students shooting teachers, the good thing is most adults realize consequences and are mature enough to have a gun in their possession.

This mind set you have is very odd. You think that just because a gun is present it means that "Oh nothing bad can happen now that we have an armed teacher!" (I'm not quoting you it's an example) An armed teacher can only do so much in certain settings. Again I will state that "Nothing can stop a school shooting, this only creates less time for the shooter to do more damage than intended." If you don't agree with this statement you have some serious issues. By not agreeing with this your saying no more shootings will happen, just because of an armed teacher. Its like saying this bank won't get robbed, because we have armed guards present. Which we all know is not true, due to the fact that armed robberies happen all the time with guns present on both sides of the battle. Also the people doing the shooting do you honestly think they are not prepared to die? Come on, think about what your saying. Yes, it may decrease shootings, but get rid of them all together? Not possible! Not in a million years

It sounds to me like you're saying the criminals should be left uncontested. I'm saying that arming teachers will help deter shooters and put an end to a shooting should one happen. The basis of most gun control in the US is that it will make shooters "less effective"; see 10-round magazines, short-barreled rifles, folding stocks, an California-specific restrictions. There is no single thing that can be done to make it so there will never be another mass shooting.

This is horrible! What happens if they are rogue teachers?
Will they just shoot a child?

Why fight fire with fire? why arm teachers with guns when you could get a metal detector to see if any student is bringing anything in? This is stupid, no .. stupid is an understatement.

Teachers would be subject to the same background checks as police officers and anyone else who would apply for a concealed carry permit in the US. Concealed carry permit holders actually commit less crime than police officers, too.

Teacher should definitely be allowed to carry guns so that they can not only protect the children but they can protect themselves! Besides, it is in the Constitution! We need to take charge of the safety problem that is going on right now and we need to arm our teachers!
