Ok so i am turning 16 soon and my mum keeps pestering me to apply for jobs and stuff.
I really want to be a police officer and i have applied for sixth form at my school thats it. So now i am starting to look at the army and RAF and all that, but my granddad says a lot of stuff about the army like they dont look after you or they dont care if you live or die, so im not really sure what to do? Anyone else my age and have ideas on what they are doing when they leave school, and if your a police officer could you tell me how you go to be one and what qualifications you needed.

Well let's just say being on the frontline isn't as fun as call of duty. Make your decision wisely.

You have to take life by the horns and just go for what you want in life, otherwise you end end up in a crappy job you hate. So go for it while you have the chance. Don't be lazy.

Apply as quick as you can, get the grades you need or you'll regret it even though i'm still at school i've possibly failed Maths and English GG WP Right?
So apply for the jobs you WANT not jut ones which are just a job and get your life going

I know a few people in the army or ex army and try defo don't care my mate applied for the police and they offered hkm 2 years free I payed work the maybe after that a possible carrier in the police

Im pretty sure you can't just apply to be a police officer. Espescially at the age of 15.

Okay thanks but its not just the fact im lazy its like something is stopping me from doing something because im too nervous. I really want to be a police officer or be someone like Bear Grylls so those would be my dream jobs, i just dont know how to apply and the internet doesnt really help, but thanks anyway

It sounds to me like you aren't mature enough for this kind of responsibility then. If you're too "scared/nervous" to simply apply, you do not belong in any kind of armed force, domestic or foreign.
Focus on school for now. If your parents are making you apply for jobs, get an easy job that will be flexible with your school schedule.
The police and army will always be there. You can decide if you want to join when you're ready.
