I was in the same position as the OP and I just spent the 40GBP more and got the GTX770. I'm very pleased I did.

If you can find a good cooler on the 760 for a decent price though you might aswell get that, it performs better with a lower TDP.

So if I go with the 760, should I go with ASUS, EVGA, MSI, or Gigabytez? I read reviews on the ASUS and the had a lot of DOA's (Dead on Arrival), but some said that a driver update that they got as soon as they got it fixed the problem.

Depends on pricing mostly. When i was looking, a EVGA ACX GTX760 Superclocked was reasonably priced and outperformed the stock 760 by quite a bit.

Nothing major, it's kinda a private joke.

But the design is a bit to boxy and straight for my personal liking.
