Whenever I link my social club account to my gamertag, I timeout when trying to join online. Help?

I talked to a Rockstar staff member before he told me to do this and it worked!

1. go to rockstar social club
2. Un link your account
3. then reload the page a few times just to make sure u unlinked your account
4. try to go on GTA 5 online and it should work, if not try 2-3 times he said

I did it and it worked but I still get timed out when I link it back.
