Alright, so I've gotten around to buying the Day Z standalone. Except my download for it on steam continuously fluctuates in speed and at points comes to a complete stop. I've already optimized the settings within steam (which are not that great to tune with) is there anything else i can do?

Go under the gray bar where it shows the download progress and click it. Then try hitting download all, See if that works.

Restart your pc? If not I have no clue. Check the steam forums possibly! Cheers.!

C:/Programfiles(x86)/steam/clientregistry.blob < delete that after steam is closed and restart steam. Fixed mine instantly

I used to have this problem
what I used to do was look at the steam server load,
then i would change my download server to one generally close-ish to me that didnt have as much of a heavy load of dl's
