I agree, someone's sexuality doesn't change the person at all and people see it in completely the wrong way. People don't like homosexuals due to religion and what their religions teach them (usually). Some people also get annoyed by people acting 'camp' which I feel is fair enough, as that is simply their personality and has nothing to do with their sexuality but is commonly associated with homosexuals

I hate people who are homophobic.

We can all respect there is something or someone in this world that you don't like or just cant bare to be around, but do you need to really say out loud that you hate a lot of people for their life choices? Seriously?

The funny thing is that when I ask what's wrong with being a lesbian they give me a terrible reason. My personal fav being "Its not natural". What gives them the right to say that? :/

People need to understand that there is NOTHING wrong with being gay. Love is love. Whether it is aimed at someone the same gender is regardless. Everyone should be treated equally.

As long as they're not hitting on me then I have no problems but once they cross that boundry then I have a hard time accepting them.
Them as in the person that crossed that boundary not them as in all homosexuals.

I'm not here to judge.

I think a lot of the stigma attached to same-sex relationships is down to societies obsession with labeling people, and as its only recently been legalised for same-sex couples to marry in some states and the UK its still a new thing for a lot of people.

I do agree with the comparison that is frequently made, when people say in the 50's & 60's interracial relationships were looked down upon and nowadays it is the norm. I have no problem with religion at all, its good to have something to believe in. When religion tries to limit what governments do and how people live, then i think it's out of line. People should worry about themselves rather than making LGBT people feel like second class citizens, when they pay taxes and work like everyone else.

To the poster who didn't want LGBT people kissing in front of them, how do you think it makes them feel when you kiss your girlfriend/boyfriend of the opposite sex? They probably don't care one bit about it.

My opinion on homophobia is similar to racism, it comes down to your attitude to the person you're speaking to. For example if my best friend uses a derogatory word towards me i know he doesn't mean it. But if it was to someone walking past its not acceptable.

So homophobia should be looked at in context. No, not everyone is going to be welcome to embrace LGBT people just yet, give em time and they might.

Personally it doesn't bother me if you're gay, just don't rub it in my face (same goes for any couple)

I like people like you, sure you disagree with homosexuality but you treat everyone the same, unlike most who treat them like crap.
I support gays though, I just dont like to see two guys making out.

I could just as easily say that I don't like seeing a guy and a girl kissing in public either, would it be OK if that were suppressed because we don't like seeing it?
Just a counterpoint, I see that posted a lot, so.

No kidding.
I'm straight and I find it disgusting when boyfriend/girlfriend are all over each other in public.

I used to have a guy who rode my bus freshman year, the things he talked about were graphic and not what I wanted to hear.
I have always been wary around them since then, i NEVER want to hear those things again.
