The reason some people think your blood is blue is because veins are sometimes blue. While your veins carry significantly less oxygen than artaries that's not the reson they're blue. There are some people who believe that your blood is blue in your body and only turns red when it oxygenates with the open air, but that's not true. An easy way to disprove this is when you give blood you can clearly see your blood in the syringe is red and how much air is in a good syringe? Not much.

Yeah, that's what all my teachers say. When I told him that blood that isn't oxygen touched is dark red/maroon, he got angry at me for denying what he said.
