My pc keeps crashing and the bios is saying Asus anti-surge was triggered due to faulty psu. Now i get that my psu is old and need replaced but cant afford one . but i've never had this issue till the other day with my new mobo. what harm could i do if i turned the anti surge off ?

If you turned it off, which I'm not 100% sure you can. It would fry near enough every component that is attached to it. The Anti-Surge is designed to stop that from happening. I'd advise to disconnect the PSU from everything and leave it in the corner or throw it at someone you hate. (Don't do that it hurts)(Them)

Just save up for a decent unit as it will benefit you greatly.
