Synopsis

NCAA Football 14 unlocks the unpredictability and innovation of the college game. The new physics-driven animation system and a completely re-engineered spread and read option game influence the outcome of every moment allowing you to stay true to the game.

Gameplay

This year with NCAA 14 EA Sports has brought the all new Infinity Engine 2 to the series. With the introduction of this engine EA has put all focus on the Running Game this year. With this engine it has brought features such as Stumble Recovery,Force Impact,Trucking and Hitting,Advanced Cutting, and Acceleration Burst. EA also implemented 20 new option types to improve the run game. The passing aspect of the game saw no new improvements. The run game they focused on this year is truly overpowered the "Read Option" in the game is almost unstoppable especially If you have a Dual-Threat QB. The defensive linemen will bite/fall for the option almost everytime allowing you to easily pick up the Touchdown or gaining 10+ yards. Even with these overpowered play types in the run game, the gameplay is better than ever and is as smooth as it has ever been with the introduction of the infinity engine 2.

Graphics

When it comes to graphics for this game the graphics are definitely dated. They have almost been the same for 2years now. Don't get me wrong the Graphics are great but there is truly no amazement to them. In the Road to Glory game mode or in Create a player the player models and faces have looked the same for the past 3years to this point. Although what it lack's in some Graphics they make up for with NCAA 14's presentation. It will definitely catch your eye with it's gameday traditions such as Oregon's mascot riding the bike out onto the field or to Clemson coming out to touch Howard's rock the presentation has looked better than ever.

Controls

The Control's are very easy to use but there is one small fault,The Ball Hawk feature where you hold Y or Triangle for your defender to basically get an easy interception does not work 80% of the time and EA even with complaints has not fixed this problem. With new features like stumble recovery they have made it easy for you to get right back up on your feet by easily flicking the analog stick in the opposite direction of where your falling. The rest of the controls are basically the same and still feel smooth and efficient. If your new to the game you should have no problem stepping in for the first time and getting the hang of it.

Rating

Gameplay: 8.6/10
Graphics: 7.8/10
Controls: 8.4/10
Overall Rating
8/10
