Alright, so i want to do this without voiding the warranty. Heres the problem:
As soon as i got my copy of black ops, there was a problem i encountered: an unreadable disc. I got to play the disc maybe 2 hours before returning it and getting another. Got this to play for literally 3 seconds, not even to the title screen. Its always said open tray or unrecognizable disc. There is a slight perfect circle scratch, but i doubt its anything. my mw2 disc has the same thing but it works fine. I talked to xbox customer support, but they blamed me for messing up the disc. Ive tried basically everything to get it to work. HDD out, beating it with controller, slamming tray, changing orientation, turning on and quickly pulling out cord, cleaning disc. I want to know out-of-the-box ways to get it to work WITHOUT voiding the warranty. Thanks!

Yes, it's your fault. The perfect circle scratch is caused when you move the xbox while the disc is being read. Very more common with Slim's. Even the smallest scratch can completely mess up your game.

use penute butter or say the game when you got it wasnt on the thing and its all scrathed??

as i said in the post, mw2 has the exact same scratch. the scratch is barely visible, unless under light, and some of my discs have way more scratches, but worked fine. =i never moved my xbox when the disc was in either.

ive been experiencing the open tray error 2 weeks after i purchased the xbox. i didnt return it, because i thought nothing of it, and it would work quickly soon after.

@smd, i already called them. what they told me was to go exchange the disc, and that it was the retailers fault. even though i exchanged it twice, and no disc works on my xbox.

use toothpaste it worked for my mw2 and its fine now.

I DO NOT NEED TO FIX THE DISC. IT IS PERFECT, EXCEPT FOR A TINY, BARELY VISIBLE SCRATCH. IT IS THE XBOX THAT IS BROKEN.

IT IS THE XBOX THAT IS BROKEN.Open the disk tray blow air in to it with your mouth or compressed air(more effective). the lens that reads games is dirty or scratched. did you try to hot swap on it?
