Yeah , Gerrard being one of the most loyal yet he wanted to move to Chelsea?.

We (Chelsea) have a few loyal players - Lampard / Terry

Drogba , When he came to us he was not amazing , But he stuck with us and while he did leave , He left a champion and it was the perfect way to leave.

Im just mentioning some of my clubs loyal players but there are many loyal players out there , Though I do agree with someone when they said loyality is not just about staying at a club for a long period , Its about your attitude , Your connection with the manager / fans / the team etc and is much more than saying a player has been with a club for X amount of years therefore he is loyal.

That's why imo Gerrard is not loyal , While he has stayed with Liverpool for a long time , He wanted that move to Chelsea.

Being a young player you cant just get into the top teams all the time , Most players start of there careers at a lower level club and youth system (Eg - Lampard) , Its when you get to the prime of your career where you decide if your loyal or not , One example of this would be frank lampard , Stayed at Chelsea at his prime and has stayed there and not looked for a move out , Then you look at players like eto , Ibra etc and you can see there not loyal.

Gerrard for example in his prime wanted to move to Chelsea , That's not loyal.

but do you honestly think he would have stayed if they weren't near the top of the league and winning things, gerrard stayed at Liverpool even though they weren't winning much and he single handed won the champions league and f.a cup and carried Liverpool for most of his career so his loyalty cant be questioned even if he did go to Chelsea, and did he really want to go?if so he would have, not much loyaltythese days the way money speaks that's why the likes of scholes gigs le tissier etc are so special these daysbut that's football,no right or wrong its aout opinions and it brings good debates

Who knows if he would of stayed but the thing is he did stay , Through some terrible moments , Through multiple sackings of managers , through all the drama around Chelsea and after tasting defeat in horrible ways in champions league year after year (Barca , Man u etc).

Jamie Carragher, Maldini, Totti, De Rossi, Terry, Scholes, Giggs, Tony Adams, Schweinsteiger and so on. There are plenty of players out there who were/are incredibly loyal.

Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Xavi for me.

I have so much respect for what Giggs, and even Scholes have done for the club. In my opinion, they have added motivation to the whole club.
