If a song is free to download on the OFFICIAL page of the artist does that mean it's copyright free?

It shouldn't be because the creator's are giving it to you for free but if you're using it in video's or something like that then i think its copyright

That is technically not true. It may be free but, that does not mean it is free of copyright. It could be public domain (copyright expired, terminated, etc.) it is probably best to contact the owner or his/her management for permission to use the song just in case.

A song that is available as a free download is still copyright protected. The artist (or recording label) may offer a song for free, but they still own the rights to that song.

If you didn't write the song, you don't have the rights to use it in a YouTube video for example.

I do not think so, it is only free. They are not giving you permission to use it for other purposes other than listening to it.
I mean, I could be wrong. This is what I believe, I wouldn't just to be safe or ask for permission.

I've found a channel called NoCopyRightSounds and checked their facebook, then came across this on their page:

''NoCopyrightSounds showcases music which has full permission from the artist that the release is FREE and anybody can use the music in their own videos.''

If im understanding this right, he's saying if artist releases the song for free download, it also means its copyright free?
