Alright look. The best way you're going to get a good computer is by building it yourself. One of these systems is old and outdated, the other is just bad. If you want a prebuilt PC, you're going to have to invest a lot more money than $500 for a good one.

I am starting to but I just wanted to know because I searched the parts up for one of them and they we're mostly discontinued on NewEgg, but I guess I'll just save up. I really want to play Battlefield 4 already.

I'm sure $500 would get you a system capable of running BF4. You'd have to build it of course. Just say the word and I'll recommend you a good $500 build capable of running it.

With a budget like that I'd be looking at something like [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

Overall better performance. All for the same price, or you could say it's cheaper. It would be within your greatest interest to obtain an OS the "free way", it will increase the performance of your system significantly when it comes to ordering parts. The build I linked will easily max out just about every game on the market, whereas with the 6300 build the same can not be said. However, if you did want to obtain genuine Windows you could drop the 8320 to a 6300 and do so. Overall, the build I linked is better.

without a legit os the build is pointless. He could get one that infects his pc with viruses, or other things that can get info about him, his credit card ECT!

Alright hold on a minute. I'm not using genuine Windows and my PC is absolutely fine. Before you go telling me I'm wrong, atleast do some actual research to back up your statement. Care to explain how an OS is going to infect his computers with viruses that will steal his credit card information?

You're making yourself look really stupid.

Any software that comes from an untrusted source has the risk of containing malware. If a hacker wants to create a botnet or scan systems for personal information or log peoples keystrokes or whatever, all thats required is to write some malicious code and inject it somewhere within some otherwise legitimate software then upload it to a file sharing network. People then willingly download it and install the software and in doing so unwittingly run the malicious code.

There is much less of a risk if you use a private file sharing network with strict invite only systems, but public sites are pretty notorious for containing malware because its easy for any joe to create an account and start uploading stuff. If he gets banned for being malicious he can easily just create another and do it again.

Am I still looking "stupid"?

If you're even remotely intelligent you can find a "free OS" without infecting your computer. Moreover, it can't steal credit card info off a computer that you've never made an online purchase on.

Sheesh.

The uh, ParrotBoy, or whatever website in Sweden makes the process of finding a legit "Free OS" super simple. I have a full version of Windows 7 Ultimate activated that I got for "free."
