Hello there iOS users and Android users,
Introduction
As many of you are aware, BBM has recently been released for the iPhone and Android now. I think this is because Blackberry is not as big as what it use to be, due to the fact of there competitors over taking them in the market. So there has been talks about this for sometime now, but only recently come out due to them needing business still. I think everybody will be happy to see this on there, but how does it compare to What's App, or another Instant Messaging on the devices.

How to download
1. Download BBM the easiest way is to visit BBM.com from your Android or iPhone browser*
2. Once you install the app, open it, and enter your email address to hold your spot in line
3. They will email you as soon as you reach the front of the line and can start using BBM
Or if you're on an iPhone, you could do it the easier way like me, and just go to the
1. "App Store" > Search "BBM for iPhone",
2. and then "Live Profile" should be your first option (might not be the same for everybody).
3.. If this is the case, scroll one to the right, and you should find "BBM" If you're unsure on what their logo is:

4. Then click "Install".
5. Type in your Apple ID password.
6. Wait for it to download.
How to use it
When you first download it, there will be a thank you message for downloading it, and all you have to then do is:
1. Fill in the email you would like to use this with.
2. Click next
3. They will send a confirmination email when you reach the top of the waiting list
4. Once you recieve it go back onto the app and click "I got the email"
5. Then when you click I've got the email, it should take you to a page where you BBM Pin is displayed.
6. This is how others will contact you. (Copying in that code where it says add friend)
7. To add others you will need to get there BBM Pin, and click add friend, and type in there names.
What you can do!
Here are some things that you can do:
1. Instant Message
To do this, all you need to do is message them, and it will send instantly, providing you have internet/3G etc.
2. "PING!!!" Them. If they have not answered to your message, whether read or not, you can send this, and it will make their phone vibrate/noise.
To do this, you have to go onto a conversation. Click the Blackberry button, and there should be an option to PING someone. You can do this as many times as you would like.
3. Have a status
You can update and change your status anytime you wish. All you have to do is, go onto your profile, and click in the space provided for your status, and type. There is a limit on this, and you can use emotes in this.
4. Show your online status (Busy/Away/Offline etc)
Again, you can also find this on your profile, and you have to click your current one, and it should allow you to change it. I believe you can also create your own ones.
5. Different fonts
To do this, you can find it under settings, by scrolling down and click font. This should allow you to pick from a wide range of fonts, and you can change the size of your text.
6. Favourites group
7. Categorise your contacts
To do this, you have to click the Blackberry button, and then click category.
8. Group conversations
When you're on the home screen, click the Blackberry button, and scroll down until you see "Group Chat" or "Group Conversation" and then you can add whoever you wish.
9. Display picture
You can change your display picture by going on your profile, and clicking your current one. You can then chose an image that you have on your phone, that you wish to choose.
10. Send files (music/images etc).
When on a conversation, click the paperclip just below the chat, and then select what you wish.

FAQ's
1. How do I find my PIN or Barcode
A PIN is a unique identifier used in BBM. People can invite you to become BBM contacts if they know your BBM PIN or if you show them your BBM barcode.
To find your BBM PIN or barcode:
1. Tap your BBM picture or name in the top bar of the BBM screen.
2. Tap the Show Barcode icon in the bottom bar of the screen .
Your BBM PIN will be displayed under the QR code image.

The person might not have BBM set up yet. If you invite a contact who has BBM but your invite is still pending, the person might not have responded to your invitation or the person might have ignored your invitation.
