Man, you obviously dont realize how important school is, what do you do at nearly any job, COUNT. Without an education there are slim to NO jobs available for you, without any intelligence you wont make it far in this society

Keep thinking like that and you'll find yourself in a bad place later in life. School is very important for getting good jobs, that's just the way the world works.

School teaches you how to have freedom with life also it improves your social skills what is good and probably gives you a confidence boost about yourself.

You're right trigonometry is pointless and you are probably not going to use it ever I think your just upset because you are like in Bottom set maths?

Its not all about when you will use this, the teachers know you will probably never use algebra in life, but it is all about learning it, getting the grades you want to get the job you want or need to provide for yourself and family.

triksta2k11 wrote Have you ever thought about what you actually learn from school?
About when and why you would use trigonometry and algebra?
About WHAT they actually teach you?

The thing is, education is important, right?
Well you can get education from other sources!
You can educate yourself by learning from your mistakes, from nature, from thinking about things deeply, from other people or from your past etc...

Fair enough, school can make you smart! But can it make you wise? There's only so much a school can teach you... Life and nature and experience will make you wise.

Some of the richest and smartest, most successful people in the world left or didn't even attend school! So is school really that important? I don't think so

If you didn't go to school you would either not be able to read and write or have bad grammar. If you can't do the basic task like talking, reading and writing you won't be able to get the experience from a job.

These people who left school early to pursue their own ventures weren't being challenged at top colleges that only the most elite get into. They already knew what they were going to do with their life and college was just holding them down because they knew everything they needed to. Judging by your grammar, colors, and font sizes in this post, added to your profile picture, I'd suggest that you stay in school and do the best you can do, because you are not one of these people.

Sorry buddy but I couldn't disagree anymore. Jobs involving math and science right now are in such high demand there aren't even enough skilled people to fill those jobs in the USA. I believe school is a MUST for all children. - Rengar

I suggest you re-evaluate your life. If I could go back to 9th grade and actually try, I would. I took AP classes because I would fail regular ones. I would fall asleep, in AP classes I would get C's or B's. If I would have tried, I could have passed and have gotten a full ride to college. Now my transcript looks like sh*t and I either have the choice to staying where I am now, making 2 grand a month, or going to college and building an enormous debt just to eventually get a better job.

Think about everything before you do anything you may regret.
