Steam is bringing more support to linux which is nice. But i don't think someone can complain though if they can't afford windows, Linux is pretty fun to use.

It is growing, but it's still nowhere near as supported as windows.

Go on ebay, i found a some really nice, cheap gaming pcs.

There was one for 295$ (Bid Won) that came with a full set up and could run Crysis 3 On Max Settings
