CPU: AMD FX-6300 Vishera

Mobo: MSI 970A-G43 AM3+ AMD 970

Get a Phenom X4 965 BE instead of the FX-6300 (google it, it's not hard to find) and swap the 650 Ti Boost to a 660.

Is the 965 better than the fx-6300? Was reading that it's an older CPU. It is cheaper though.

It is worse, but not by a huge margin and the graphics card is more important. Also, it will still keep up with a 660 so it is better to get that than an FX-6300 and a weaker graphics card.

Inclined to agree with tbyeah (always a first ;) ) because you can overclock on that board if you thought you needed better performance, and if you didn't then AM3+ will continue to be supported through next generation of AMD processors.

No, I would go with the Phenom. The lower end Bulldozers are pretty bad.
