Ok, so im tired of seeing people posting about the kinect spying on you for the group PRISM. Microsoft is with PRISM since 2007 and im tired of people saying thats why the kinect is required.
This is what microsoft has to say.
Microsoft: "We provide customer data only when we receive a legally binding order or subpoena to do so, and never on a voluntary basis. In addition we only ever comply with orders for requests about specific accounts or identifiers. If the government has a broader voluntary national security program to gather customer data we don't participate in it."

So stop posting about this bs this a discussion forum about the xbox one. Kinect has many new and improved features, and it will be better than the last one, now stop making a big deal out of this. BTW you may not be able to unplug it but you can turn it off.

Zuckerberg also stated that Facebook wasn't part of PRISM and wasn't giving information to the government either, but that was a lie. Also, the NSA doesn't even need search warrants: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
All in all, no one connected to PRISM can be trusted at this point. Google Glass is another camera that has the same ability as the Kinect has. It's concerning.

NSA Does need search warrants to access company database, and the NSA already knows everything about you, me, and everyone else. ITS NOT A BIG DEAL, its life. and Facebook actually has a contract where nsa dosent need a warrant, but microsoft, google, and apple all do require warrants.

Microsoft can be money hungry sometimes but spies or snitches? Nah.

Plus think about it. What age group plays consoles? Primarily 10-25 year olds. The most information they'd get from spying is if a kid cleans their room.

Facebook maybe because like everyone is on it.

Plus the Playstation's camera sounds worse. "Playstation Eye"

They actually don't need a warrant (as shown in the link I put), but you can believe that if you want. Google was also lying just as Facebook was. I didn't put it on my last post because I don't know the CEO's name and I wanted to keep it neat. People should be worried that the government knows everything about them. The Constitution is suppose to protect the privacy of the citizens. The government is breaking the oaths they took by spying on us. It is a big deal. It's only going to get worse as well.

I highly doubt Google would be anywhere near PRISM as they were all about preventing SOPA and ACTA. Remember the internet Black Out? Google took part of that.

Im sorry that you actually believe this, but the only time they dont need a search warrant is when they "KNOW" the person is up to no good. Im sorry you have no faith in the goverment, or im sorry you can provide i respectful source. Just saying. Why are you worrying? Are you a terrorist?

Were you trying to say, "Can't provide a respectful source"? What are respectful sources to you? Fox? CNN? MSNBC? Did you know, CNN was paid by Bahrain to air a false story. A CNN journalist was in Bahrain and new the truth (Amber Lyon.) She told the truth with proof and was fired for it. What's scary is that CNN is considered to be the most truthful and it airs across the world, but it lies. American-based news is not the most trustworthy of sources. I'm worried because we are losing our freedom. I'm worried because our Constitution is being destroyed right under our noses and only very few care. Who is to say 9/11 wasn't an inside job? A very similar attack almost took place during the Cold War. Kennedy was the only man in government that stopped it. Operation Northwoods. This would have got us into Cuba. We then have this similar attack on our Twin Towers and we are magically in a "War on Terror" and we are destroying the Middle East. Yea, I am concerned and everyone has a right to be. The is a reason why a nice number of military stepped down and speak against the war. It's all a lie.

Yin, you seem to be getting extremely paranoid lately. I'm not sure if YOU actually believe this, or are just fighting to be the devils advocate.

Either way, the government wouldn't need the Kinect to spy on us. Cameras are everywhere, they have all of our information on file, at 18 in the US you have to register on the SSS and keep your address up to date, your medical records are easily accessed and if they really wanted to see what you were up to, they could request logs from your phone company or just show up and search everything.

Kinect is just as bad as the smartphones now, laptops and many other pieces of technology. They all have a microphone and a camera. Prism may or may not include those companies, we have heard this from one man and one man only.

Either way, it has been stated that what they do is have the data stored and access it if need be, which technically could save a load of time. For example, someone names you as a suspect for planning to attack a location. They said you told them over an email. They look through your internet records and find nothing of the sort, you no longer need to be questioned because of someone trying to get away.

Very basic, but it still shows a benefit. They really don't know everything about you, that's a huge exaggeration, they obviously know a substantial amount of information but I really don't see the issue. As long as me typing something illegal wouldn't have me arrested on the spot for just mentioning it, I could care less. It really doesn't affect my every day life, and I doubt it changes your life either. In reality, we still have our privacy until they need to access our information.

If this has been going on for awhile, I would have been arrested A LONG time ago if they used this for what people say they do.
