Here's a speedtest..

Is this correct and is there any thing i can do to increase it at it's current state?

The difference in your numbers is because of megaBITS (Mb, lowercase b) and megaBYTES (MB, capital B). Internet speed is usually measured in megaBITS because it makes the product look faster. I've got 50 megabits down, but I actually get about 6.25 megabytes/s when I download something.

You can calculate megabits to megabytes by taking the number of megabits and dividing it by 8.

So your speed of 3,008 Kb/s (kilobits and kilobytes work the same way, Kb and KB) would be about 376 KB/s, so your 311 is only slightly off. Either way, 65 KB don't matter much.

Your speedtest says you should be getting around 221 KB/S.

Very good point made by Rainbow_Dash, that is correct, also many ISP's sell their products as "Up to xxxMB/S" and not as "You'll 110% get xxx speed".

Funnily enough though when i rang up my ISP they agreed to magically change my DL speed from 9MB/S to 80 for more money.
