A few people have said the game has basically ended, that the rounds won't count, but I don't see why that would be fair or possible?

No the round does not count if somebody leaves but your kills and downs still will.

Dont think so. As soon as someone leaves it posts the scores. Whatever round you were on, kills, downs, etc will show up on the leaderboards right away. The game will still continue but I dont believe and extra stats you get will count
